Tylee’s music can be categorized within the indie-pop genre, featuring clear singer-songwriter and rock elements. Influenced by her love for 70s music, her recordings are intentionally kept simple—authentic and approachable. Artists like PJ Harvey, David Bowie, and The Clash have significantly shaped her work. Additionally, her music is often compared to that of Lana Del Rey or Mazzy Star.

Music has always played a central role in Tylee’s life. Her father, a musician himself, not only passed down his musical talent but also left her an extensive CD collection that remains a source of inspiration to this day. Her lyrics come from her journals, which over time evolved into „thought books“ – a tradition she has kept since childhood.
The album cover somewhat tells the story of the album: It shows Tylee in the dreamy cabin where the recordings took place, surrounded by the books where she holds her lyrics. The pen she’s used to write her songs for years symbolizes her creative journey. At the same time, the cover is a tribute to David Bowie’s The Man Who Sold the World and emphasizes the dreamlike quality of the music.
With Holiday from My Head, Tylee creates a space where listeners can leave everything behind – an album that evokes emotions, inspires, and touches the soul.
