In a contemporary climate dominated by identity politics and consumer-oriented classification, FANATICO X continues to make music that cannot be easily classified.

Still Searching is the first single from the third FANATICO X album Beneath Your Feet, which will be released in autumn. The track is a reworking of the song Searching, which singer Jorge Socarrás wrote in the early 80s with then bassist Bob Hoffnar for their former band Indoor Life. Searching was first released on the second Indoor Life album in 1983, and in two more versions on a 1985 EP produced by Mike Thorne (Wire, Soft Cell, Bronski Beat, etc). Continuing the song’s evolution, Mathias Schaffhäuser transports the composition to the present day, making new references to the Hi-NRG and disco that influenced the original. The result is Still Searching, a highly energized song version that connects the decades on different levels - maximally condensed in the radio edit, and multi-layered in the album version.

In his club mix, Mathias concentrates on the technoid, abstract middle section of the song, steering the original's center of gravity further leftfield.
