With their third FANATICO X album, “Beneath Your Feet,” and their debut on GMO – The Label, Mathias Schaffhäuser and Jorge Socarrás span a wide musical spectrum, both stylistically and chronologically.

In a contemporary climate shaped by identity politics and consumer-driven categorization, FANATICO X continues to make music that defies easy classification. As the lead single for their new EP, they’ve chosen a song that served the same purpose six decades ago: Grace Slick’s “White Rabbit.”

“Still Searching” is the title of the first single from FANATICO X's third album, “Beneath Your Feet,” which is set to be released this fall. The track is a reworking of the song “Searching,” which singer Jorge Socarrás wrote in the early '80s together with bassist Bob Hoffnar for their band at the time, Indoor Life.

With the “Return (Again) EP,” Mathias Schaffhäuser once again takes a highlight from his album “Singing About It” out of the club context—the song was originally created during a live improvisation.

"“Cover Me,” originally from the album “Singing About It,” emerged from a live improvisation and is featured on the EP with four remixes. Among them are Cecil, who gives the song an acoustic twist, and Pawas, who takes it deeper into electronica/deep house territory—complemented by Schaffhäuser’s own club mix, which further sharpens the track featuring Cecil & Pawas for the dance floor.

Mathias Schaffhäuser’s tenth solo album is titled “Singing About It,” and the title says it all—there’s singing here. In fact, there’s singing on almost every song, and if not, then at least there’s spoken word. This is something that hasn’t been featured on any of the Cologne-based artist’s previous albums.

“Fancy Grey” is being released ahead of the album “Singing About It,” making it the first sign of Mathias Schaffhäuser's stylistic shift toward more vocals. The song is accompanied by its own music video and rounds out the EP with a radio edit that presents the track in a more compact form.

The ‘Fantasy System EP’ marks Mathias Schaffhäuser's first release on GMO – The Label. Accompanying the EP is the music video for the title track, ‘Don't Go Crazy With Your Fantasy,’ which showcases Schaffhäuser's signature stylistic range, spanning club sounds and songwriting.
