GMO presents "Tranquilo, mi corazón" by Marilia Monzón to German-speaking audiences

Warm-heartedness and authenticity are the words that best describe the Spanish singer-songwriter Marilia Monzón and her voice. The Canarian singer's music is characterised by a style in which beauty and simplicity stand out.

The TV talent show "Operación Triunfo", which is still as popular in Spain today as "American Idol" in the USA, made the then-18-year-old artist famous throughout the country in 2018. Since then, she has radically changed her career and is now strongly influenced by the sounds of her homeland. "Trazando Rutas", "Cruzando el charco" and her EP "La Realidad" are among the most popular titles in her repertoire. All of them were created after her time with "Operación Triunfo" and co-produced by 5-time Latin Grammy winner Eduardo del Águila, among others.

Marilia Monzón presented her debut album in November 2023, which consists of 10 songs that draw inspiration and influences from traditional pop and folk from her homeland, the Canary Islands, as well as from Spain and Latin America. The album was produced by Juanma Latorre. composer and guitarist of Spain's currently most successful alternative rock band "Vetusta Morla", and mastered in Mexico by Latin Grammy winner Nacho Sotelo (Carla Morrison, Mon Laferte).

On 8 December, "Tranquilo, Mi Corazón", a single from the current album, will be released together with an official music video, which can be viewed on YouTube.

In cooperation with the Cologne label GMO, which has already successfully introduced artists from Spanish-speaking countries such as Vetusta Morla and Jenny And The Mexicats to the German music market, "Tranquilo, Mi Corazón" is also the first single to be presented by Marilia Monzón in German-speaking countries. Marilia's music, which masterfully combines tradition and modern Latin pop, will no doubt also find many listeners in Germany.
