Julia Klomfaß is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and singer, and Raphael Hansen sings, plays the guitar and percussion. Even though only one of them is half-French (Raphael), they ventured to write and sing in French, since this beautiful language matches harmoniously with their melodies.

In their shows, they sometimes play as a duo, sometimes as a quartet with contrabass and percussion and other times with a string band that gives the band a more classical and attractive sound. Their fourth and latest studio album n’allume pas le feu was released in February 2020 under GMO – The Label and is a clear example of Toi et Moi’s style and sound. The quality of the album is superb and it shows a mature and simmered sound. It contains some standout, old tracks like “Suzy, Carla, Babette”, an upbeat opening song that sets the tone of the album, or “En Passant”. But there also melancholic sounds (“N’allume pas le feu”, “Pour Nana”) that are slowly propelled upwards by the two harmonious voices and the string section to create an intimate atmosphere.
