As the flagship track for their new EP, they have chosen a song that defied classification six decades ago: Grace Slick's White Rabbit. Inspired by sources as diverse as the stories of Lewis Carroll, Miles Davis' Sketches of Spain, and, of course, LSD, White Rabbit became the anthem of the psychedelic movement, which sought to break free from social conventions. While no one could match Slick's groundbreaking 1967 recording with Jefferson Airplane, FANATICO X have added their own distinctive art-pop touch to the song's enduring magic with a stripped-down organic beat and a pulsating, atmospheric incantation. The EP also includes an extended version of the song, which is both a melodic deconstruction and a lush harmonic soundscape. Together, the two versions of White Rabbit provide a whole new listening experience for old and new fans alike.
The second track on the EP is a remix by up-and-coming US producer Robotek Reagan of the title song from FANATICO X’s third album, Beneath Your Feet which will be released in October. Robotek's Let Go Of Hate - Hyperspace Tunnel Remix takes the haunting atmosphere of the original and catapults it onto the techno dance floor. Many of the original elements remain intact, which is rare in the remix cosmos, yet the mix still makes a completely unique musical statement.
This is followed by the extended version of White Rabbit, and the EP concludes with another extended version of Beneath Your Feet. Here, Mathias Schaffhäuser has gently expanded the structure to make it easier for DJs to use the track, but the bass and beat are identical to those on the upcoming album, offering a promising preview of things to come.
